A simple, modern, southwestern stripe blanket to showcase your favorite self-striping yarn or use up scrap yarns.

Yarn: Light, dk, or light worsted weight yarn (light, category 3). You can use any yarn you like.

Two Sizes
Baby size: About 33 by 44 inches (84 by 112 cm) for a baby blanket.

Baby size requires about 520 yards (475 meters) of solid color yarn for the main color (turquoise in the sample blankets) and about 590 yards (540 meters) total of contrast color yarns, 65 yards (59 meters) of each of 9 contrast colors.

Adult size: About 48 by 64 inches (123 by 163 cm) for an adult throw blanket.

Adult size requires about 1,092 yards (999 meters) of solid color yarn for the main color and about 1,239 yards (1,133 meters) total of contrast color yarns for the stripes, 137 yards (125 meters) of each of 9 contrast colors.

Scrap-friendly: You can either use self-striping yarn or use 9 separate colors of any yarn as the contrast colors.

The sample baby blanket used 1¼ skeins of Bernat Super Value yarn in Peacock (100% acrylic; 426 yards (389 m) per 197-gram skein) as the main color yarn and less than 1 cake of Lion Brand Mandala yarn in Elf (100% acrylic; 590 yards (540 m) per 150-gram cake) as the contrast color yarn.

This beginner-level pattern requires chain and single crochet stitches in US terms.
