A graphic lightweight spring accessory inspired by Romania’s oldest oak trees in the Mociar forest, this cowl can be worn loosely or wrapped twice around the neck.
It is knitted flat with a first section worked in a geometric wave pattern and a mindless broken stockinette making the last third. It’s a quick engaging knit to showcase a special yarn.

Yarn :
You will need approximately 350m (383 yards) of sport or heavy fingering weight yarn.
Semi-solid, or tonal yarns with a good stitch definition and drape will work best.
Sample used 2 full skeins of Morris & Sons Empire 4ply in Aquamarine (175m – 191 yds per 50g).

Gauge & Needles :
24 stitches x 30 rows per 10 cm / 4 inches on 4 mm (US 6) needles in wave pattern stitch after blocking.

Sizing :
One size.
The finished circumference of the cowl is about 120 cm (47 1⁄4 inches) and its width is 24 cm (9 1⁄4 inches).
Make sure to wash and block your gauge swatch to control how much your yarn grows in length. If necessary, you can then easily adapt the size by eliminating or adding pattern repeats in either section.
