Mittums
Mittums-mittens are worked in the round starting with Tubular Cast On for the cuff, the thumb has an arched gusset. The extra long folded cuff provides extra warmth for the long, cold winter days. The pattern is written for Magic Loop Technique but you can use double pointed needles.
The pattern has instructions for both fingering and DK weight yarn.

Yarn
70 (80) g of fingering weight yarn in one or two colours. The sample mittens (size M/L) were knitted with Schachenmayr Regia Premium Merino Yak, (58% Merino, 28% Nylon, 14% Yak, 400 m / 437 yds per 100 g) in colourways 7510 Beige Meliert and 7512 Anthrazit and used 36 g of each colour.

2.75 mm/ US 2 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or DPNs or size to obtain gauge
extra circular needle for cast-on
markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends waste yarn or stitch holder

Yarn
75 (90) g of dk weight yarn in one or two colours. The sample mittens (size M/L) were knitted with Laxtons SheepSoft DK, (100% British Wool, 225 m / 246 yds per 100 g) in colourway Bishopdale.
