I prefer to join knitted pieces and reinforce edges with crochet,
which produces durable seams and firm edges. This is optional so a crochet hook is not mandatory.

This sweater knits on smaller needles than is customary for
this weight yarn. The tighter gauge results in a better fitting, longer lasting garment.
