MANHATTAN SCARF
One of the lovely things about knitting is all the gorgeous yarn scraps, just waiting to be made into something pretty.
The leftover silkmohair and Stellaris yarn from my Manhattan Blouse are no exception. For a long time I have wanted to make a voluminous, colourful scarf with stripes and ruffles out of those scraps – and the result is what you see here :-)
Like its sister, Manhattan Blouse, the Manhattan Scarf is both retro yet modern, funky & colourful. The expression can be customised completely to the knitter’s personal preferences.
The pattern is a very easy knit with stockinette knit in the round, perfect for beginners or knitters with too many yarn scraps :-).
I have used six different colourways for the design plus an additional glittery thread. I recommend that you choose 3-4 similar colourways and one dark contrasting colour and a lighter colourway. One of the colours connects all the colourways and is used for the ruffles.
I hope you enjoy your #manhattanscarf, as much as I have enjoyed designing it! Happy knitting! June
MATERIALS
I have used six different Silkmohair colourways from indie dyer By Emra (who is not on Ravelry yet), all used as double strands. Plus a skein of Kremke Stellaris to give a glittery effect to the beige stripes and ruffles.
I have used between 15 and 70 g.
