This is the stole version of the Maja Shawl published in the Winter 08/09 issue of Knitty (www.knitty.com). The sample is knitted in Berroco Ulta Alpaca Yarn (50% Alpaca/50% Wool)
Colour 6226 5 skeins (100 g/215 yard-198m)
and measures 24 inches wide and 84 inches long.
The orignal Maja Shawl was knitted in Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend.
Any aran/worsted or heavy dk yarn would be suitable.
Very flexible size, add or subtract groups of 8 sts to make the stole wider or narrower, and add or subtract pattern reps to make the stole longer or shorter.
Suggested needle size 5.5mm/US9.
