Maienschein Hat
Maienschein: /may-IN-shine/ noun, poetic German. The green-gold sunlight that falls through the young leaves of trees and woods in springtime. Literally “May-light,” “May-shine.” The concept is reminiscent of the Japanese “komorebi,” light filtered through leaves. In knitting, this translates to a hat with lace, leaves, and a little bit of slouch. It’s perfect for autumn, spring, or any time you want a lightweight, feminine head covering.
Photos show size M. Use larger needles if needed to get accurate gauge. Stitch patterns are provided in both charted and written form.
