Working with a handdyed multicolor yarn is always an adventure. You can do some planning but you are always in for surprises. This hat showed a pink sine curve along each stripe.

The hat is worked with slip stitches. The pattern has photo tutorials for all stitches and techniques used, i.e.

• front loop only slip stitch (F)
• back loop only slip stitch (B)
• inverse back loop only slip stitch (iB)
• crocheted seam for B
• turning stitches worked into the side of a rib, including increases
• crocheted seam in the smooth pattern
• turning stitches worked into the side of the smooth pattern
• short rows
• F decrease in rounds

There’s also an introduction to planned pooling.

The pattern is part of the “Progress, Hope and Happiness” project, with 12 patterns by 9 designers cooperating with 4 indie dyers.

Es ist immer ein Abenteuer, mit handgefärbten bunten Garnen zu arbeiten. Im Zusammenspiel von Planung und Handarbeit ergiben sich häufig überraschende Effekte. Hier
bildete sich eine rosa Sinuskurve über die Streifen der Mütze.

Die Mütze wird aus Kettmaschen gehäkelt. Wie immer erkläre ich alle benutzten Maschen und Techniken in der Anleitung. Das sind

• von links hinten eingestochene Kettmaschen (iB)
• gehäkelte Naht für H
• Anhäkeln an Rippen, mit Zunahmen
• gehäkelte Naht im glatten Muster
• Anhäkeln an das glatte Muster
• verkürzte Reihen
• Abnahme für V in Runden
• planned pooling
