Use up those sock yarn scraps to create a fun and funky shawl that is completely unique! This 3/4 square shawl is fun to make and wear. It easily stays on your shoulders because of the shape, and it’s design works great with scraps of various yarns.

The idea with the magic ball is that you are creating one long continuous yarn with scraps. To make a magic ball, wind off scraps of yarn in whatever length you would like and join the yarns using the magic knot technique. You can play with as many colors as you choose, and avoid having extra ends to weave in!

Gauge: 5 stitches/inch, 8 rows/inch
Gauge is not crucial, it will just result in a different finished size, so go for a fabric you like!

Materials: You will need a magic ball of sock yarn that weighs approximately 160 grams/640 yards (although the pattern is highly adaptable, so you could always go bigger!)
