The “LUCY” hat - fun, bright stripes

A funky stocking hat that knits up quickly with textured stitches and a riot of colors. A great way to use up leftover bits of yarn from all your other projects!

THE BASICS

• Pattern includes 6 sizes: Newborn / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / Toddler / Child / Adult

• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms

• Instructions are for knitting in the round on circular and double pointed needles

• Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)

• Knitting skill level - INTERMEDIATE

• Optional edging is done in crochet

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• Knitting in the round

• Basic increases and decreases

• Knitting I-cord

• Making pom poms

• Basic crochet stitches (chain, slip stitch) - optional

SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED

• Approx. 15 to 30 yds (14 to 28 m) DK or light-worsted weight yarn EACH of seven (7) colors

• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) 12” or 16” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge

• U.S. size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook (for optional edging)

• Stitch markers

• Yarn needle
