Lone Mesa Pillow
Add a southwestern inspired style for your home. One cake of self-striping yarn creates impressive colorwork that’s much easier than it looks!
Time: Weekend Project
Skill Level: Intermediate
Size: Large pillow (left): 15” by 16” wide to fit a 16” square pillow form (38 cm x 40.5 cm to fit a 40.5 cm square pillow form)
Small pillow (right): 11” by 16” wide to fit a 12” by 16” travel size pillow form (28 cm x 40.5 cm to fit a 30.5 cm x 40.5 cm pillow form)
Yarn: dk weight (light, category 3).
You will need about 500 yards (457 m) of main color yarn (MC) (background color) and about 300 yards (274 m) of contrast color yarn (CC) (forms the arrow motif) for each pillow.
The sample pillows used 1 ball of Bernat Baby Sport yarn in Baby Taupe (100% acrylic; 1,256 yards 1,148 meters/350 grams) as the solid color yarn and 1 cake of Lion Brand Mandala yarn in Groot (100% acrylic; 590 yards 540 meters/150 grams) as the bright self-striping yarn. One ball of each yarn is enough to make both the large and small pillows.

Notions: Tapestry needle, 16” square pillow form or 12” by 16” travel pillow form
