Loan er komin’, or ‘Loa is here’ in English, is an old Icelandic folk song about the arrival of spring. The cardigan was originally designed for my wee cousin Lóa. There is also a ‘Loan er komin’ shawl designed for the mother of the little one. The pattern is worked from the top down. The sleeves are purposely straight at the cuff to make it easier to dress a small infant. The body is also longer so the garment will ‘grow’ with the child.

Finished chest measurement: 43 (46, 51.5, 56) cm, to be worn with approximately 3 cm ease
Body length: 26 (28, 32, 35) cm
