Lionel is a bright lion with a funky pink mane. This lion is knitted predominantly in stockinette stitch, with increases and decreases for shaping. The mane is added after knitting by attaching strands of yarn onto the head.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toy is knitted in acrylic DK yarns, mostly on single pointed needles (not in the round). The tail is an i-cord tube worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than 30g in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, buttons for eyes, and black embroidery thread for the nose.

SIZES
One size only - 24cm tall (standing).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
