Leila's Gauntlets
I have always loved these fitted, very elegant pieces, originally offered in my book, The Purl Stitch. And while my eldest granddaughter is not interested in my knitting her a sweater, she is happy for any and all versions of these that I send her. Hence their now being named after her.
There is nothing different from the original pattern except that I have added a small size. I have left the largest size in the pattern but do not have a photo of it.
The middle (or largest) sizes could also be worn over a pair of gloves, which is shown in one photo. Lovely option for colder days!
Different sizes are attained using different needles, gauges, and yardages as follows:
XS–S, over 2.25mm needles, 32 sts = 4” (10cm), 280 yds
M–L, over 2.75mm needles, 28 sts = 4” (10cm), 300 yds
1X–2X, 0ver 3.25mm needles, 24 sts = 4” (10cm), 320 yds
