Leaf tunic
Leaf Tunic is an elegant and loose tunic featuring simple stockinette stitch on body and sleeves, and a decorative leaf border on the tunic skirt. It has an oversized and wide body that, perhaps at first, can appear a bit on the short side, but it will lengthen and stretch when you wash it. The back neckline has a small opening that is closed with a button.
Front and back are worked sideways, back and forth, and in one piece with the leaf border at one end. You shape for armholes and neckline as you go, while German short rows create wedges that further shape the body and add more width to the tunic skirt. Sleeves are worked in the round from the top down. Sleeve cuffs and neckband are finished in garter stitch.
The Leaf Stitch Pattern has a written instruction only and consists of 18 rows that are repeated throughout the length of the body.
