Leaf it Be
One of the problems I have with an all-over colorwork pattern is the pattern shift at the beginning of the round. Rather than taking the easy route with panels separated by divider stitches, the pattern repeat is such that the jog is not noticeable.
The cowl features an all-over leaf and vine pattern worked in double knitting, eliminating the need for long floats.
Pattern is CHARTED only.
Gauge
Stitch gauge is 10 stitches in double knitting to 2 inches. Row gauge is not important.
Size
Pattern is written for a 4 repeats of the pattern, which comes to about 24 inches in circumference. Cowl is worked to desired height.
Yarn
2 contrasting colors of DK yarn. I used about half of each skein for mine.
Necessary Items
Circular needles that will allow you to work the stitches without overly stretching them.
Stitch markers to separate repeats and mark the end of the round.
Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Directions are given for the double knitting method that I use. Feel free to substitute a different method.
Pattern is CHARTED only.
