Lady Stardust Socks
Sometimes a yarn finds you. This is what happened with Yarn Carnival’s Sci-Fi colorway. I saw the yarn and knew that it was destiny. This yarn would make a stunning pair of socks. Ana, the dyer, says that combination of such bright colors set out against a silvery neutral background was inspired by vintage dramatic science fiction movie posters.
An iconic movie with an epic poster is the cult classic The Man Who Fell to Earth. David Bowie plays a lonely red-headed alien who uses his extra-terrestrial know-how to be a successful business magnate.
The bold reds, oranges, blues and violets of this colorway evoke images of this film and clever star stitch patterning to make the bright colorbursts splash out across the stockinette background of your sock.
