Kristina is a very, very easy to knit vertical striped sweater worked sideways in single pieces. The perfect project for knitting beginners, here shown in a pure cotton yarn. But this sweater will look great worked with a pure wool or a DK merino yarn.

Back and front part are knitted sideways in single pieces, for the sleeves you pick up stitches from the upper back and front part and work top down.

This sweater is intended to fit with about 2½“ - 3” 6 - 8 cm of positive ease at bust. Shown in size S with 3” 8 cm positive ease at bust

MATERIALS

  • I used the pure cotton yarn “Miro” from Buttjebeyy (100 % cotton, yardage 109 yds 100 m / 50 g); you’ll need 5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins in main color - shown in “Blauholz” and 5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins in contrasting color- shown in “Blauholz-Mix”
  • US size 2.5 and 4 3,0 und 3,5 mm or any size to obtain gauge

21 sts and 28 rows = 4” 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch with bigger needles (after blocking)
22 sts and 34 rows = 4” 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch with smaller needles (after blocking)
