Kirkstall Mitts
Description: Cozy fingerless mitts with a folded over cuff. Available in 3 sizes (small, medium and large). A garter stitch pattern creates two triangles meeting in the middle of the mitts resulting in a slightly drawn up front of the mitts, creating a beautiful arch. Instructions for the garter stitch pattern are available as a chart and written instructions. The pattern is suitable for beginners.
Needle Size: 3.5 mm/US 4 and 4 mm/US 6 circular needles for magic loop (60 cm) or DPNs. Or needle size to obtain gauge.
Yarn: Viola (DK weight; 100% Merino, 100 g – 250 m/273 yds), Shade: Blackcurrant, 1 skein.
Gauge (after blocking): In stockinette: 24 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm/4” using larger needles.
Final measurements: Small (Medium, Large): Length: 26 cm/10.25” (27.4 cm/10.8”, 28.5 cm/11.25”); Width: 8.9 cm/3.5” (9.5 cm/3.75”, 10 cm/4”).
