Kerosene Creek Shrug
Kerosene Creek is a wonderful hot-water stream near Rotorua where you can bathe under ferns and large trees. The water runs fast through a deep river bed, and is so hot that tendrils of steam rise up off the surface. I chose to create a garment that uses a lace-weight mohair yarn to create the light, cloudy effect of this steamy river.
This shrug is knitted from the top down in one piece, with the sleeves separated and then completed after the body is worked. The pdf files for the increases in this design are provided as separate files to allow for easier reading.
This pattern is part of The New Zealand Collection which is available as an ebook comprising 20 patterns (some for women, some for men and some for children).
