Viewed from the front, Joinz cardigan looks like a common comfortable, buttoned cardigan with a nice split at the button band and dropped shoulders for your everyday wardrobe.

But a look at the back shows the interesting construction: a shoulder line shaped by decreases at the middle of the back, a lower back worked sideways and (almost) all parts joined by I-cords.

The sample shows the body narrowed down towards the bottom but it could be worked with a straight fit easily. A slightly curved hem completes the look.

Construction

Starting with the neckband, you work the upper fronts first, then the upper back. After a few rows over fronts and back, you work the lower back sideways in two parts that are joined with an I-cord bind off afterward. Then you finish the body working both fronts downwards. In the end, the sleeves with a vertical I-Cord are to be worked.

This cardigan is comfortable, versatile and interesting to knit – all of it, of course, completely seamless! And besides three stitches at each button band, there is no picking up stitches!

You’ll get beautiful results with a simple fingering weight yarn held together with a mohair (blend) lace yarn.
You may as well work this garment with single light-weight yarn with matching gauge (worsted), and it is up to you to work it two-coloured or single-coloured.

Von vorn betrachtet scheint der Joinz Cardigan ein bequemes Basic-Oberteil mit überschnittenen Schultern und einer geteilten Knopfleiste als Blickfang zu.
Erst die Rückansicht zeigt die interessante Konstruktion: Abnahmen auf der Rückenmitte formen die Schulterlinie, das untere Rückenteil ist seitwärts gearbeitet und (fast) alle Teile sind durch Biesen (= I-Cords) verbunden.
Der Body der Musterjacke wird nach unten hin schmaler, aber er lässt sich ganz einfach auch gerade arbei-ten. Der hinten etwas längere Saum komplettiert den Look.

Konstruktion

Du beginnst mit der Halsblende und setzt deine Arbeit erst mit dem oberen Vorderteil, dann mit dem obe-ren Rückenteil fort. Nach einigen Reihen über Vorder- und Rückenteil wird die untere Rückenseite in zwei Teilen seitwärts gearbeitet. Diese werden anschließend mit einem I-Cord verbunden. Erst dann wird der Body mit den unteren Vorderteilen beendet. Zum Schluss werden die Ärmel in Runden mit einem vertikalen I-Cord gestrickt.
Diese Strickjacke ist nicht nur bequem, sondern auch vielseitig einzusetzen und abwechslungsreich zu stricken – und sie wird – natürlich – komplett nahtlos gearbeitet.
