Island Time Shawl Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone! I’m just over here checking all the things off the list! Since forever you’ve been asking for the “half” sunburst tutorial or the Triangle Sunburst. I’ve wanted to create a simple sunburst shawl/triangle scarf for some time—and since the Island Time Blanket pattern is a current favourite it seemed like the perfect time to make the sister pattern.

This shawl uses basic shapes to create a standard triangular granny square shawl. It uses the same large sunbursts that are featured in the Island Time Blanket Pattern but with the addition of half sunbursts to complete the edges. For this particular pattern sample I wanted to use a fun variegated hand dyed yarn that allowed me to work up the sunburst motifs without any colour changes. Lets let all these gorgeous yarns do the work for us, am I right!? So grab a yarn that makes your heart sing and lets get to it :)

Pattern uses Ravenswood Fibre Co DK weight (1260yds) for the sunbursts and WeCrochet Swish Bare to join (578yds) with 4.5mm and 4.0mm hooks.
Pattern measures 78”x34” and is easily customizable by adding as many or little squares along the leading edge. This sample is quite large, but 3-4 squares less in width would make an awesome scarf size!
