So I took to knitting from a vintage knitting book that was sold at news agents priced in pounds. My friend showed me how from her book and then my husband found one on eBay. That book is very well loved!

One of my favourite stitches in the book is bamboo.
And then I thought I’d try my hand at knitting this in the round…and in my trial and error I ended up modifying the stitch.
I absolutely love how this works up with two completely different sides (which speaks to my heart for reversibility) and it reminds me of organisms from nature.

In this pattern there are instructions for 3 versions.
Version differences relate to the type and ply of the yarn, the size of the knitting needles and the number of stitches and rounds.
There are instructions for modifying the length or width of the scarf.

The pattern also provides instructions for 3 different bind offs.
