Make a gorgeous, textured baby blanket using this wonderfully textured stitch combination that creates a raised honeycomb on top of the fabric.

The pattern comes with full instructions on making a baby blanket, as well as any size of blanket that you want, a table with different blanket sizes, charts and videos that show you how to make the stitches.

Skill level

The skill level required to easily make this blanket is intermediate to advanced. You will work with cluster stitches and around surface posts that are parts of these clusters.

All the stitches as presented in detail and shown in the videos, so even beginners can learn to make them, but it takes patience and dedication.

Once you have made the swatch, the pattern is easy to follow.

Finished size

The sample that the instructions are written for is 50 cm by 60 cm (20” by 24”), but there are different measurements for other sizes as well, up to 180 cm by 230 cm (70” by 90”) and you can also calculate the number of stitches using the provided table for your specific blanket size.

Notions
Yarn - 750-800 meters of baby yarn, size 2 or sport weight, at about 300 meters per 100 grams - sometimes this is mislabeled as DK, check the length, rather than the name of the yarn; I used Himalaya Enjoy, 2.5 skeins of 100 grams, at 300 meters per 100 grams. For larger blankets, you can calculate the yarn requirement based on the weight of your swatch.
Hook: 4 mm hook or hook recommended on the label of your yarn;
Scissors and tapestry needle for binding off.
