Hilbert
My son loves math. One day he came to me and asked for a scarf knitted just for him. In return I asked if he could find me a cool math concept for this project. He came back later with a chart using the Hilbert space filling curve. This is how this scarf got its name — Hilbert.
This is an incredibly fun and simple knit, yet you will have to pay close attention to the chart. The magic of the unbroken line works only if there are no mistakes. Other than that, it’s just a very big number of cleverly arranged knit stitches.
Needs about 200g of fingering yarn in two colours (sample knitted with Kauni two ply midnight blue and colour-shifting blue-green).
This pattern is designed for the knitter who has some experience knitting mosaic.
All proceeds go into my math-loving son’s university fond.
