Heart's Ease Socks
Here’s a sophisticated spin on a heart motif, showing a heart full of nooks and crannies, in which our love is complicated and abstract, with little crooks that reach out to one another. This women’s sock pattern uses a Turkish stitch pattern called “Heart’s Crook”, but not the traditional Turkish sock design. Instead, its short row heel and toe and cuff down approach blend Western and Eastern sock construction technique and pattern in a single design.
The socks are knit with 2.25mm double pointed needles, with three colors of a fingering weight yarn that knits at 8 stitches to the inch. This pattern uses stranded knitting and short row techniques; the socks are knit with two colors in each row. The model shown is knit with 1 skein each of Knit Picks Palette in Serrano, Black and Mist.
This stranded knitting pattern requires the knitter to be able to read a chart. The two-color pattern is not written out.
