Named for a line in the iconic Helen Reddy song, “I Am Woman,” this cowl is a tribute to the bold women who fought for our right to vote. The color scheme of purple, white, and gold is inspired by the National Woman’s Party flag. The right to vote was hard won and deserves to be celebrated.

Substitute green for the gold, and this design serves as a tribute to the British suffrage movement. Or, do it in any three colors you like and you will have a striking accessory!

The pattern is worked in fingering weight yarn. It is folded over, and all ends are concealed within the cowl. There are no seams, and the cowl can be worn with either side outside. It can easily be made bigger or smaller, simply by adding or subtracting the number of motifs.
