Greta is a perfect top-down raglan sweater for those who like to start with a small and simple Fair Isle pattern. This pattern is easy to knit so that even advanced beginners can complete this sweater without problems.

Feel free to choose your own colors and stripe combinations. My test knitters worked a lot of different variations, as you can see on the photos.

Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL)

Bust circumference of finished sweater:
34 (37, 41, 46, 50, 54, 58) inches
87 (94, 105, 116, 127, 138, 149) cm

This sweater is intended to fit with about 2” - 3” 5 - 8 cm of positive ease at bust. Shown in size S with 2” 5 cm positive ease at bust.

Materials:

  • I used Cloudborn Fibers „Highland Fingering” (100% Fine Highland wool, yardage: 494 yds 450 m / 100 g); 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5) skeins in main color - shown in „Slate Heather” 1 (1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) skeins in contrasting color 1 - shown in „Grey Heather” 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2) skeins in contrasting color 2 - shown in „Stormy Skies”
  • US size 2 3,0 mm circular needles (or any size to obtain correct gauge), 16” 40 cm, 32” 80 cm and 36” 100 cm
  • US size 2 3,0 mm double-pointed needles (set of 5) or a short circular needle, if preferred
  • stitch markers
  • stitch holders

Gauge:
25 sts and 36 rows = 4” square 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch (after blocking)
