This is a fair isle hat pattern that uses one contrast color. It is rather simple, with eight stitch repeats for nine rows of the contrast color.
I used a bulky weight wool blend for warmth and stitch definition, but any bulky weight yarn will work.

The pattern will make hats from about 13” in diameter to 21 “ in diameter.
