One of my most beloved patterns ever gets a makeover. Gramps now includes 13 sizes and two sweater length and sleeve length options. Design is unisex.

Doesn’t your grandpa have a cozy cardigan to wear around the house? Knit yours oversized to be comfy like Gramps, or to your chest measurement for a little more sass. Sweater is worked from the bottom up with raglan-style seamless sleeves. Shawl collar is extended with short rows to be wider at the neckline. Cables are worked on the fronts and modified for the sleeves, and the back is knit in a wide-wale rib. Cable Pattern is both written and charted. Pattern is designed for experienced knitters comfortable with decreasing in a cable pattern. Modeled in Size 4 with standard sweater length, long sleeves and 4”/10 cm positive ease. Additional options are included for longer sweater length and 3/4-length sleeves. Featured version is worked with Biches & Buches Le Gros Lambswool in Very Light Pink.

This is the adult version of Gramps. Click here for the child’s version--there is a slight overlap in the sizing on the smaller end. You may also be interested in checking out my video tutorial on cabling while decreasing. I also have a video tutorial for the one-row buttonhole that is written out in the pattern.
