I’m releasing a new pattern every week during (Inter)National Crochet Month, 2014. This is part of a series of blocks inspired by the Spring Garden theme of Crochetville’s NatCroMo Designer Blog Tour. The center of this square is inspired by the gerbera flower.
Skills used
Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet
Working in rounds, increasing, and joining new colors
Crocheting in the back or front loop only
Bobble, post stitch (written explanations are provided in pattern)

6” (15.25 cm) square
Materials
Medium weight yarn in 2 colors (30-35 yds/27.5-32 m in each color). Sample uses Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic, 5 oz/142 g/251 yds/230 m) in Shenandoah (CA) and Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic, 5 oz/142 g/251 yds/230 m) in Joshua Tree (CB).
I-9/5.5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.
Yarn needle.
Gauge
1 square in pattern = 6” (15.25 cm) square. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
