The beginning of 2019 was a little discouraging for various reasons. I destressed with this piece and just let the pattern flow; I didn’t have a plan. I just switched colours when I felt like it, and played around with different textures that made me happy! I hope knitting this shawl brings you a little peace to the hustle and bustle of your busy life, too.

The Geometric Shawl incorporates many different geometrical components - horizontal and vertical “lines”, circular-like “droplet” stitches, even 2 different final shapes to chose from - triangular or pentagonal! The pentagonal fully encompasses the body, while the triangular is the more traditional-style shawl. The first prototype utilizes Woolfolk Luft (Triangular), the second uses Wool and the Gang Feeling Good (Pentagonal).

• Difficulty: Intermediate
• Yarn: Woolfolk Luft (Triangular shape: 2 skeins Colour A (218 yds), 1 skein Colour B (109 yds), 1 skein Colour C (109 yds)) or Wool and the Gang Feeling Good (Pentagon shape: 2-3 skeins Colour A(284-426 yds), 2-3 skeins Colour B (284-426 yds), 1 skein Colour C (142 yds))

More yardage may be required if you choose to increase your needle size for a larger, extra cozy shawl.

• Gauge: 12.5 sts x 19 rows stockinette (6.00 mm) = 4”
• Techniques/ Stitches: Garter Tab Cast-on, Knit, Purl, Increasing, Stranded Knitting/Fair Isle Knitting
• Needles: 6.00mm 36”+ circular needles (also used interchangeable needles with one needle 6.00mm and one 9.00mm for a fun textured effect in the pentagon version.)
