Finished Measurements: Wingspan x depth at centre after wet blocking: 62” x 19” / 157.5 cm x 48 cm

Yarn: 400 yds / 366 m worsted weight yarn. Sample knit using PreWash by Tanis Fibre Arts, 100% Merino, in Garnet.

Size: US size 8 /5.5 mm long circular needle for holding a large number of sts.  

Notions: Tapestry needle,  stitch marker

Gauge: 16 sts = 4” / 10 cm in Garter Stitch after wet blocking (gauge is not overly important; however, it will alter yardage and finished measurements)

Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner

Construction: Heart shaped triangle shawl knit top down with garter stitch body and simple eyelet rows. Great for a first shawl!

Skills needed:
k- knit
k2tog- knit 2 sts together 
k2tog-tbl- knit 2 stitches together through the back loop
m1l- with left hand needle, lift the horizontal strand between both stitches from front to back. Knit this stitch through the back loop.  
m1r- with left hand needle, lift the horizontal strand between both stitches from back to front. Knit this stitch through the front loop 
ssk- slip slip knit
yo- yarnover
