This pattern is a reworking of a vintage doily that I found in my Grandmother’s sewing box.
The centre features cluster stitches, whilst the border has a combination of solid panels and lacy panels.

I thought that the lacy panels looked rather like paths and they suggested the layout of a formal garden, so this is the reason for the name of the pattern.

The doily measures approximately 25 cm / 10 inches in diameter at its widest point.
