The design for this Garden Party Shawl was inspired by my love of bunting, knitting with beads and tea parties in the sunshine. I just love seeing bunting gently waving against a blue sky on a beautiful, sunny day.

I have used a hand dyed 4ply merino/nylon sock yarn by The Knitting Goddess to knit this shawl. The main shade is Soft Pink and each of the little bunting flags are knitted from 10g mini skeins. Or why not use up some of your leftover skeins?

This is a crescent shaped shawl knitted from the bottom up. The little bunting flags are knitted first (using a provisional crochet cast on) before moving onto the beaded pattern on the shawl border and then finally the shawl body is knitted using short rows.

Instructions for the shawl border section are provided in both written and charted format. However, instructions for the bunting flags and the shawl body are written only.
