Garden Party Cowl
You know you have one: I’m talking about that skein of hand-painted yarn or gorgeously crazy variegated yarn you fell in love with at the yarn store (or the fiber festival). It’s been sitting in your stash and you’ve never been able to find the right project for it.
Meet Garden Party!
This pattern was designed strategically to make use of a variegated yarn that can be gorgeous in the skein but difficult to pair with the perfect pattern.
The main portion of the pattern is meant to highlight the color of the skein while adding a bit of all-over texture with eyelet blossoms (don’t worry - there’s a video tutorial!). The texture helps balance the color with some consistency.
Think of the solid borders as the fence to a garden, or the frame to a painting. The borders create an anchor to contain the color. (And the border doesn’t take much, so you might already have a solid in your stash that matches.)
And guess what? This design is just as fun in one solid or tonal color. Or speckles. It’s up to you!
