Galliatt Tabard is a turtle neck lacy poncho-style tunic, comprising 3 colours of worsted weight yarn (or any colour configuration you like!). It is worked flat in two pieces. The sides are fixed together with your choice of fashionable buttons, facing back-to-back, therefore no button holes are required. It is designed to be roomy, so that you can wear a light sweater underneath. A practical piece for everyday wear.

Sizing & Fitting
This tunic-length garment is designed to be worn oversized, with a positive ease of approx. 3.5” (8.5cm) for sizes XS to S; 5.25” (13.5cm) for size M; 6.5” (16.5cm) for size L and 3.5”-4.75” (8.5-12cm) for sizes 1XL to 3XL, around the bust and high hip area.

Gauge
Gauge in Lace: 21 sts by 24 rows over 4” (10cm) square on the largest size needle. Gauge in 2x2 Rib pattern: 26 sts by 30 rows over 4” (10cm) square on the middle size needle. All blocked.

Tools
5mm (US 8) (or size required to get gauge) needles;
4.5mm (US 7) (or size required to get gauge) 80cm (32”) or longer circular needles; 4mm (US 6) 60cm (24”) or longer circular needles (for short-term use on the neck ribbing only); 4 lockable stitch markers; some waste yarn (for provisional cast on and to hold stitches), sewing needle (for sewing buttons), measuring tape and yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Notions
8 or 12 x 0.75” (28mm) buttons.

Techniques
All stitches are worked in lace pattern, Stockinette or 2x2 (K2, P2) ribbing. Knowledge of the following techniques are helpful: Cable cast on, reading lace charts, working in the round (magic loop), German short row shaping and picking up & knitting (PUK).
