The Galaxy Scarf’s stitch pattern is created using short rows and slip-stitch variations, which are smoothly integrated into the ribbing edges.

It works vertically, flat, and in one piece. Repeats of the stitch pattern are structured to create a double-sided scarf textile. Both sides are right sides, a tiny bit different, but both are outstandingly beautiful.

You need to know how to work a yarn-over slip stitch, understand the short row technique, be ready to learn some slip stitch modifications that create the stitch pattern and follow the instructions carefully.

Size: Size can vary depending on your desire and the amount of yarn you have for the project.

Materials:

1. Yarn: 150 - 250m per 100 g. Approximately 300 - 400 g, depending on the length and width. Choose solid colors, hand-dyed yarns, or tweeds. Experiment with long color changers. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other exciting effects. Do not choose very contrasted color-changing yarn; it will eat up the stitch pattern’s appearance. A z-twist yarn will give a different stitch definition; not all can be recommended.
2. A crochet hook size 4.5 mm – 7 mm, or suitable for your yarn, and additional hooks 0.5 and 1 mm smaller.
3. A tapestry needle for weaving in. The pointy needle will make weaving more reliable as it gets the yarn end through fibers and is less likely to get out during wear.
4. Up to 15 locking stitch markers.
5. A Lazy Susan tray to help rotate, as we will constantly rotate the work clockwise.

Main steps:

• Start with the foundation cord multiple of 16.
• Work Part 1 only once.
• Repeat Part 2 and Part 3 twice, thrice, or as many as you wish to grow the width.
• To finish, work on Part 4.
• Block it, helping strengthen long edges if needed.
• Ready to wear!
