When the cold wind, all long-reaching icy tentacles and bitter cries, starts to subside and the earth is given a second to breathe, to settle cold and true without the drama, I am often reminded of the Belle and Sebastian song Fox in the Snow. Its simple lyrics and gentle melody have stayed with me for near on twenty years; a little refrain of winter. I wanted to create a simple, wintery hat to foster this memory and to delight in the beautiful fox as it stands out against the speckled white of winter.

The hat is knit in Icelandic Alafoss Lopi wool partly from pragmatism (it’s natural, hardy and warm) but mostly from the little things that speak to the heart - the beauty of the rust coloured wool especially and the delicate, snow-like halo adorning all Alafoss yarn.
