Flugarth is a triangular shawl knitted from the bottom up. It is a completely reversible shawl on a garter base.

The shawl is named after the Flugarth Loch which is the loch at the back of the beach in North Roe, Shetland. It is near where my Grandmother grew up.

The pattern for this shawl was inspired by a zig zag pattern within an old Shetland Lace Hap (Shawl). I then repeated this pattern to create this shawl with a plain garter centre.

This shawl can be made to any size if desired by changing the number of repeats of the pattern.
