Eve must have been the very First Bride and if she had had a bridal veil in the Garden of Eden, then surely it would have looked something like this lacy shawl of floating leaves! Pondering the design of the first ever bridal veil inspired this lace leaf shawl.

First Bride is a crescent shaped shawl that drapes to a soft triangular point with traditional Estonian edging and bind off. It is worked top-down in a completely seamless manner. Instructions are included to make it larger.

The design lends itself nicely to several yarn weights. Make it in a lace weight for a truly ethereal bridal shawl or in a light fingering weight for greater stitch definition and a little more warmth. Any sock yarn or fingering weight with good stitch definition will work well.

Instructions are both charted and written.

75 inches/190.5cm wide and 23 inches/ 63cm deep at center point. Instructions to make it larger are included.
