These owls are keeping cosy and snug in their festive hats! Each owl uses intarsia colour-work, and increases and decreases for shaping. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the owls are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, beads for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The big owl is 14cm tall (without the hat) and the little owl is 8cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
