Falling Leaves
This pattern is featured in an article in the September 2019 issue of Happily Hooked Magazine.
Autumn is the season of falling leaves. Everywhere in our small town in Oregon we can see COLOR, vibrancy, and the power of the season change! Those last few brilliant colors clinging to the tree, drifting through the wind, or decorating the streets. Beauty surrounds us. Every shade of red, orange, yellow and brown that you can imagine! This pattern can be used to create anything from delicate jewelry pieces to bold buntings. Be creative. Grab all your scraps. Get all your hooks. Usher autumn in with all the falling leaves.
Pattern gives specific instructions to make the following: earrings, pendant, brooch, bunting and wall hanging.
You will need a small amount of any thread or yarn in your stash.
Hook & Other Materials
• Any hook that gives you a tight stitch. You may need to go down from the recommended hook size for some yarns.
• Yarn needle
Optional Supplies
• Earring hooks
• Aleene’s Stiffen Quik or any other brand clear-drying fabric stiffening spray
• Jump ring
• Necklace
• Pin back
• Flat nosed pliers
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Sizes/Finished Measurements
Sizes will vary.
Gauge is not essential for this project, but tight stitches will result in a leaf that holds its shape better.
This pattern can be worked in any size crochet thread and appropriate hook. Experiment with different sizes of thread/yarn and hooks to achieve smaller or larger leaves.
All directions are written in American Crochet Terms.
