GAUGE:
24 sts and 28 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in chart and Stockinette stitch, blocked

Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
• Gauge Needle: Size US 5 (3.75 mm) 16”circular needle
• Optional Needle: One size smaller than Gauge Needle. (See Notes)

TOOLS:
• Waste yarn
• Stitch marker
• Extra set of needles in the same size as gauge needle
for grafting
• Tapestry needle

NOTES:
• Worked in the round, this cowl uses a provisional cast on
and Kitchener stitch grafting. You are essentially knitting a
tube and then closing it up when you finish.
• Stranded colorwork knitting often tightens ones gauge;
therefore consider going down a needle size when working
Stockinette stitch. Should you choose this method, you will
need needles in one size smaller than gauge needle.
