Inspired by Kelims and old woven textiles. Using geometric designs and rich sources of colour and pattern. Kelim designs are quite large and lend themselves to intarsia, but, I wanted to try and translate the designs into a simplified fair isle, stranded design.
This cloche hat is the first of a new collection of Kelim inspired designs for Autumn Winter.
The pattern takes a very small quantity of D.K. yarn, making it a perfect stash busting project.
You will need approx 100grams of main yarn Black and a very small quantity of Blue, Light Brown, Silver Grey and Peach for the fair isle design.
Very quick to knit on 4mm (UK8-US6) Knitting Needles.
The pattern is written and charted.
One size to fit an average adult head. Width around crown 56cm. 22in.
