For both mittens you will need 35 meters (37 yards) of a worsted weight (4) yarn.
Sample was made using Lion Brand Heartland yarn in the color “Rocky Mountains.” Heartland yarn is a 100% acrylic, worsted weight (4) yarn that contains 230 meters (251 yards) per 142 grams (5 oz).
