This is an instant download PDF pattern for the Down Time Pullover in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2X and 3X.

This is an intermediate level pattern which uses DK (3) weight yarn. This sweater is designed to have a loose, slightly boxy and oversized fit with a kangaroo pocket and hood. Please choose your size based on a measurement that is 4-6” MORE than your bust measurement.

Sweater Construction:
Lower Body - The bottom of the sweater is worked flat separately for the uneven hemline, then joined together after the drawstring casing and side slits to work the remainder of the body in the round. The back hem is 1” longer than the front hem.

Upper Body and Sleeves - Body is split into two panels after the armhole bind-off, shoulders are seamed and sleeves are picked up and knit in the round from the body down to the cuff.

Hood and Kangaroo Pocket - The hood is picked up from the neckline and knit flat and then the drawstring casing is picked up from the hood edge and knit flat. The kangaroo pocket is knit flat separately. Drawstring casings and kangaroo pocket are seamed to the body and then drawstrings are added after the fact.

Materials
4.5 mm (US 7) 16” circular needles
4.5 mm (US 7) DPNs or magic loop for cuffs
4.5 mm (US 7) straights or long 32”+ circulars for body
Tapestry needle
Removable stitch markers
5-10 yards of 1-2” cotton cord, ribbon or I-cord
DK weight yarn in one color plus optional 10 yards for skull patch
Pattern tested in Hobbii Kind Feather

Approx. yardage:
• XS - 1,400 yards
• S - 1,500 yards
• M - 1,700 yards
• L - 1,800 yards
• XL - 1,950 yards
• 2X - 2,100 yards
• 3X - 2,400 yards

Gauge
4” = 22 sts x 28 rows in stockinette with one strand of DK weight yarn on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles. Block before checking gauge!

• S -32-34” (81-86 cm) bust with finished circumference 38” (96 cm)
• M -36-38” (91-96 cm) bust with finished circumference 42” (106 cm) o L-40-42” (101-106 cm) bust with finished circumference 46” (116 cm)
• XL -44-46” (111-116 cm) bust with finished circumference 50” (127 cm)
• 2X-48-50” (121-127 cm) bust with finished circumference 54” (137 cm)
• 3X - 52-54” (132-137 cm) bust with finished circumference 58” (147 cm)
