This hat is another of the series Twist Stitch, a knitting technique that I like for its amazing plasticity and modernity. Applied to a geometric motif, this technique emphasizes the simple elegance of it. The hat is stretchy enough to accommodate most adult heads and is designed to fit as a beanie, but you can personalize your own making it larger, deeper (for a slightly slouchy version), with folded brim or adding details like a pompom.

Sizes to fit: one size, stretchy, it will fit most adult sizes.
Final measurements (unstretched): height: 20 cm / 7.85”; circumf at brim: approx 46 cm / 18”.

Gauge: 24 sts x 28 rounds = 10 cm /4” with 4 mm (US 6) needle in 1 x 1 twisted rib after blocking.

Yarn: approximately 150 metres / 164 yards of Worsted weight yarn. Yarn used in the sample: Cascade 220 Heathers, 100% Wool, 201 metres (220 yards) /100 gr, color Birch Heather.

Needle: 4 mm (US 6) or needle size needed to obtain the gauge, DPNs size 4 mm (US 6) one set.

Questo cappello è un altro della serie “Maglia ritorta”, una tecnica che amo molto per la sua plasticità e capacità di creare modelli attuali e puliti. Applicata a motivi geometrici, questa tecnica ne enfatizza l’eleganza. Il cappello è disegnato per vestire come un berretto ma può essere personalizzato rendendolo più largo, più profondo (con una vestibilità più comoda), o aggiungendo un bordo elastico ripiegato oppure un ponpon.
