Modelled on a dishcloth I knitted in Mrs Clinton’s class back in the sixties , I designed this one by holding two thrifted yarns together . The extra chunkiness combined with the loose tension makes it a great dishcloth or counter wipe . The holes ensure that it dries fresh and the cotton used can be machine washed in hot water for hygiene .

Makes a great washcloth or spacloth too . Although I’ve used discountinued yarns you could use any two 10 ply yarns or any other 12 ply plus DK cotton yarns for the same two tone effect . You just need to make it up to a super chunky 20 ply thickness and make sure than one of the yarn is a type of bouclé one with stretch . It doesn’t work as well with two non stretch yarns .
