Story…
I was shown a very old vintage (100 years plus) heirloom blanket and asked to design a pattern to allow the current owner, who inherited it years ago, to make pillows to coordinate with the original.
This is what I designed. I am not sure yet if it coordinates with the owner’s blanket as I haven’t seen it since. Here’s hoping !!

The Pattern
US terminology.
This pattern gives you options to make a throw, a blanket, a pillowcase topper and a fun ‘Sun’ project.
All the projects look great when displayed with a contrasting colour underneath.

Instructions are based on Aran/worsted weight cotton. The pattern works in any weight but the measurements are listed for Aran/worsted.

The sun works well in fine crochet, as a taster for your main project.

Materials :
4.5mm / US size 7 crochet hook.
Aran weight (cotton recommended ). One colour. Yarn use discussed in pattern.
1250g Aran for single bed without pillow section,
420g Aran weight cotton for each pillow case,
1600g Aran weight cotton for single bed cover,
2460g Aran weight cotton for double bed,

35g fine crochet thread for sun.
